A Memorandum of Cooperation between Mariupol City Council and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has been signed today at the Center for the Development of Startups "1991" within the framework of the Youth Welfare Index project. The event was attended by Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Kochurin and UNFPA Deputy Representative in Ukraine Pavlo Zomostyan.

The project aims to learn the needs of young people at the city level. Thus, a special online platform with questions in seven main areas was created. There were issues concerning education, security, health, ecology and participation in political life.

"We will be able to use this index in the formation of the 2030 Strategy. We will make an initial measurement and we will set goals for each area together with the youth parliament. We will also compile a list of actions to achieve them, "Oleksandr Kochurin said.

In turn, Pavlo Zamostyan added that the city will be able to use this tool for many years. This will allow you to take measurements regularly.

"You will be able to compare what the situation was in 2020 and what will be in 2022. In addition, there is an opportunity to create your own additional questionnaire on the platform, " he explained.

It should be noted that, three more Ukrainian cities have already joined the project. They are Lviv, Mykolayiv and Kremenchuh.
