The ice arena, located in the Levoberezhny District, is almost completely ready to receive visitors. The work is 98% completed. On October 17, the first hockey match will take place between the team of our city and Kiev "Sokol". Mayor Vadym Boichenko and People's Deputy of Ukraine Vadym Novinsky were the first to go out on the ice.
“The ice arena is another present for Mariupol citizens. These are new opportunities for our children. They will be able to realize themselves sportingly. It is important that each district becomes self-sufficient, gets its own cultural and sports center”, Vadym Boichenko stressed.
The total cost of the project is over UAH 90 million. The ground floor houses the lobby, ice rink, fast food, changing rooms and a first-aid post. On the second floor there is a gym with exercise equipment and a fast food zone. Due to the translucent structures, you can also watch the matches from the second floor.
“This is a state-of-the-art ice center, which is a prime example of private and municipal partnership. It testifies to the fact that together it is always possible to do more for the development of the city than separately”, Vadym Novinsky emphasized.
A figure skating and ice hockey school for children and youth will operate on the basis of the Ice Arena. The Ice Complex will operate all year round.
