Today the opening of the exhibition against violence "Річ у тім 2.0" has taken place in the "Multicenter". It features 16 photographs depicting famous contemporary figures. They hold in their hands the things through which domestic violence was committed in real events. The event was attended by the secretary of the city council Ksenia Sukhova.
She shared her impressions and told how the direction of protection against violence in the city is developing.
“Today the issue of domestic violence is widespread not only in Mariupol, but throughout Ukraine. In our city, about one and a half thousand calls are received annually about violence. The city is doing everything to resist this. Various services have been introduced, shelters have been opened, mobile teams and advice on help are operating. The main thing for people is trust, but for us the willingness to help, ” Ksenia Sukhova said.
The exhibition presents different stories of both adults and children. They relate to psychological, physical, economic and sexual abuse. Visitors can use the QR-code on the photo to view the videos created as part of the promotion. In them, actors, presenters, musicians, scientists and athletes tell the real stories of victims of domestic violence.
This Campaign is being implemented jointly with UNFPA and the United Nations Population Fund. The event for the start of the World Action "16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence", as well as regional events in 24 regional centers are supported jointly by the efforts of the United Nations agencies in Ukraine.
Anyone can visit the exhibition free of charge. It takes place in the Multicenter (Street of the Ukrainian Cossacks, 51).
