Reconstruction of the Left Bank District Center for Social Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities is being continued. There will be an early intervention service for children at risk of getting a disability. Rooms for rest, games, activities and relaxation will appear there. A gym and an information technology class will be opened for seniors. The area of the center will almost double.

In the early intervention room, parents will be able to observe the work of specialists with children and learn from their experience. Gesell's translucent mirror will help them in this. As part of the major reconstruction, three buildings will be redeveloped, connected by corridors for ease of movement. The total area after the renovation will almost double. A new building for children from 14 to 18 years old will open. Also in the two-story building, for the first time since its construction, an elevator will appear.

“With the help of specialists, parents will learn to raise their children correctly. The sooner such experience is acquired, the easier it will be for the child and parents to understand each other and adapt in society. It is also important to install an elevator, which was not included in the building project. It will facilitate the delivery of the child to the second floor”,

- the Mayor Vadym Boichenko said.

For younger pupils, rooms for rest, games, classes and relaxation will be arranged. For seniors, a gym and an information technology class will open, where teenagers will learn IT literacy. One of the innovations is the canis therapy room. Children will be able to communicate with specially trained dogs. The day stay service will become available.

Psychologists, rehabilitation therapists and speech therapists will work in the rehabilitation center. With the help of special classes, children will be able to learn to speak, become more mobile, find new friends and adapt in society. An advisory center for parental support will operate on its basis.

The project is being implemented within the framework of the national project "Major Construction" through the non-returnable investments of the European Investment Bank. The renovated center is scheduled to open in 2021.
