A large-scale celebration of the Day of the Metallurgist and the Miner has been held in Mariupol on Theater Square. Mayor Vadim Boichenko, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Vadim Novinsky and City Council Member Sergey Magera congratulated Mariupol residents on one of the city’s important holidays.

‘This is a special day for Mariupol. Thousands of destinies and families are associated with it. This is a story of strength, valor and honor. With the forged steel tempered character and spirit of our city. I am proud of every metallurgist and veteran. You have created a solid foundation for the economy of our city and country. Together we build a city of new opportunities, a city of the future by the sea,’
Mayor Vadim Boichenko noted.

During the event, a teleconference was held with the twin sister of Mariupol - Krivoy Rog. Within its framework, the best metallurgists of Metinvest from around the world were awarded. The highest award of the company, a gold star, was presented by Yuri Ryzhenkov, General Director of Metinvest Holding LLC.

‘A country cannot be strong without strong metallurgy. Thank you for your determination and character, commitment to development and perseverance. We create the metal that is known all over the world. This is our common success,’ said Yuri Ryzhenkov.

Taras Shevchenko and Enver Tskitishvili, director of Metinvest-Promservice Mikhail Rubtsov also addressed the residents and guests of the city with greetings.
