During his working visit to Mariupol, the Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Vadim Chernysh has visited water intake sites. They are planned to be organized in the framework of the water supply project on the Starokrym reservoir and on the Kalmius river.

It is worth noting that this year the Government of Ukraine and France signed the Framework Agreement on the official support of the project on the supply of drinking water to Mariupol. He will solve the issue of safe and quality water supply for a half-million city. The agreement provides the allocation of € 64 million by the French Government.

‘We have been working with local authorities for a long time in order to improve the quality and reliability of water supply for Mariupol. There are 260 km from the fence to the city. The water supply system intersects the collision line. It is very difficult to say about its reliability in such conditions, when all the time the fights along the collision continue’,
Vadim Chernysh noted.

The minister is confident that the community should receive quality water at an affordable price. This question must be considered comprehensively. According to him, Mariupol pays great attention to all the projects related to water supply of the population.

According to the investment project signed with France, the city government has formed a proposal to organize a site for water intake. The final word and expertise will provide the French side. The deputy mayor Sergey Zakharov told about it.

‘We are waiting for a new technology of water supply, filtration and expertise. The project aims to improve water quality. It should be implemented at the best world level,’ he stressed.
