Every week, new buses arrive in Mariupol within the framework of the project of the city and the International Finance Corporation. Now their total quantity is 43 units of transport of small and large capacity. New cars were appreciated by Mayor Vadim Boichenko.
The Mayor emphasized that the main task that the municipality sets was to renew public transport completely. According to him, the work of buses, trams and trolleybuses should have logic. Therefore, a transport model is being developed.
According to the director of the Department of Transport and Communications Vasily Klat, 5-7 buses arrive weekly in Mariupol. Now 43 cars go through all the necessary documentation for entering the streets of the city.
The head of PU ‘Mariupol Tram-Trolleybus Management’ Vitaly Donev noted that the company is recruiting conductors and drivers. Decent working conditions have been created and there is a competitive salary for comfortable work at MTTM.
It is worth noting, the transport was acquired as part of a joint project of Mariupol City Council and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Buses are assembled at the Minsk Automobile Plant. They have the maximum configuration. They include air conditioning for the driver’s and passenger’s cabs, electronic information systems, trip signs, automatic update of stops, video surveillance and a passenger counting system. Each bus has the ability to carry up to 90 passengers.
According to the project, the bus fleet of Mariupol will be replenished with 64 units of transport. 49 units of them are MAZ 203016 and 15 twin 18-meter-long buses of the MAZ 215069 brand.
In addition, in the framework of cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, 72 new trolley buses will also run in the city streets.
