Modern fountains, new recreation areas and locations. Mariupol residents should see Gurova Park next year like this. There is the second stage of reconstruction. The total cost of the reconstruction works is almost UAH 100 million. The turn of works was checked by Mayor Vadim Boichenko.

A park with a territory of about 50 hectares is planned to be the hallmark of the Kalmius district. Near the Ukrainian house a new cascade fountain consisting of three bowls with waterfall steps will be created. The fountain has a dynamic backlight. Lamps will be located under each step of the waterfall to emphasize the overflow of water.

A light-dynamic musical pedestrian fountain will also appear in Gurova Park. It will be equipped with additional options - a fogging system to create the effect of morning fog and air humidification. In addition, a laser projection is provided for creating evening and holiday shows.

By the way, people with disabilities will be able to rise from the park to the Palace of Culture ‘Ukrainian House’. For them it will be equipped with special races.

During the inspection, Vadim Boichenko noted that a new tradition is being conceived in the park - the holding of unique festivals of cultures of different nationalities.

Particular emphasis will be placed on sport and various activities. Volleyball and basketball courts, roller skating areas, skateboard area, tennis courts and cycle paths. What is especially important is the possibility of renting bikes and rollers.

According to the deputy mayor Sergey Zakharov, the Kalchik river will become the highlight of the park. On both sides, it will ennoble and create sports zones.

Besides, a barbecue zone will appear in the park, where Mariupol residents can relax in comfort. It is planned to plant a large number of deciduous trees to create a shadow.

There will be Mariupol analogue of Disneyland there. It will be a unique amusement park. This concept of the park was proposed by urbanists from the Netherlands. But, according to the mayor, it will definitely be discussed with the residents so that they tell about their preferences.

‘This park reflects the new philosophy. Here the interests of people of all ages will be taken into account and various forms of activities will be presented. Gurova Park will be a tourist attraction for residents from all over Mariupol. Places where our citizens would like to spend their time will be created in every district of the city,’
Vadim Boichenko stressed.
