In honor of the 77th anniversary of the liberation of Ukraine from the Nazi invaders, flowers have been laid at memorial signs in all districts of Mariupol.
Deputy Mayors and Secretary of Mariupol City Council Ksenia Sukhova honored the memory of the victims near the monument to the Soldier-Liberator. Deputy Mayor Arkady Meshkov stressed that today it is very important to remember the Second World War and respect the liberators of Ukraine.
“Those events taught us the main thing - to value the world. Today, as never before, we understand that this is the guarantee of the development of our city and country, ” he said.
The heads of district administrations also honored the liberators. Thus, the head of Kalmius regional administration, Petro Checker, laid flowers to the "Tank" memorial sign. In turn, the head of the Left Bank Administration Viktor Ocheretin paid tribute to the veterans at the "Cannon" memorial sign. The head of Primorsky regional administration Volodymyr Petrov saluted the heroes at the memorial sign to the victims of fascism, the acting head of the Central region Volodymyr Mohilny laid flowers at the memorial sign in the City Garden.
All events were held in compliance with quarantine restrictions.
It is worth noting that today Ukraine celebrates 77 years since the day of the country's liberation from Nazi invaders.
