The project of affordable housing is being implemented in Mariupol - the winner of the contest ‘Steel Freedom 2018’. The project on the construction of social housing has already passed the tender and is under development. It will meet European standards.
It is worth mentioning that in December, with the support of Metinvest Group, the results of the Steel Freedom contest in the category “Creating a residential project in the segment of affordable housing in Mariupol” architects were summed up last year in Mariupol.
The main condition for the competition is to develop a project using bearing steel structures. It is planned steel solutions to reduce the time of construction of the object and reduce the cost of construction work. They are durable. The winners in the category “Creating a project of a residential building in the segment of affordable housing in the city of Mariupol” were Dmitry Shchepetnov, Yevgeny Kolmakov, Nikolai Voronchuk and Yevgeny Tsyupin.
According to the organizers of the competition, the Association "Ukrainian Center for Steel Construction", Mariupol City Council for the first time in the five-year history of the competition became the customer of a project for the construction of social housing last year.48 young architects and designers took part in the announced category. They submitted 21 projects. Works were evaluated by eight criteria. Among them - architecture, energy efficiency and the constructive form of steel structures. The work of young architects formed the basis for the development of the project.
“We have already had the experience in creating affordable housing. Mariupol is the first city in Ukraine that opened a social hostel for IDPs. The city is being built - all conditions are created so that people make a choice in favor of Mariupol, ” the deputy mayor Sergey Zakharov said.
Today, with the support and financing of the Development Fund of Mariupol, a tender has already been held for the execution of design and estimate documentation. The company was chosen "NEW VISION PROJECT" (Kiev).
In accordance with the terms of reference, an eight-story, two-section house with a roof under construction in Amurskaya Street is being designed. 121 apartments will be built. The total area of one and two-bedroom flats will be about 5,500 m2. All heat engineering calculations will be taken into account in its design, and it will meet the regulatory criteria of modern construction. A floor plan has been approved and a unique facade in modern European trends will emphasize the originality of the building. The boundary life is 100 years.
“For the first time in Ukraine a social dwelling house is being built of a metal frame. This object will become a landmark both for Mariupol and for the country as a whole. Its aesthetic appearance and technical solutions will mark the beginning of a new branch of the development of prefabricated housing,’ the head of the project company emphasized.
