An improvised stage for the unique performance “The Way Home”, which has been realized within the framework of the “Dialogue in the Language of Art” project with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, is located 30 km from Mariupol. The famous director Vlad Troitsky showed his vision of what is happening in Donbass. The place was not chosen by chance, because it used to be a busy highway Mariupol-Donetsk and now it is closed for traffic.

‘Today, roads are being reconstructed on a large scale in Ukraine. This is how a new route Mariupol - Zaporizhzhia appeared. But the main road, which we have been building for six years, is not made of concrete and asphalt. This is a mental road home –the road to Ukraine. We are building it through the development of Mariupol, through large-scale projects that are being implemented in our city by the sea. We see the mission of Mariupol - to be a showcase of the revived Ukrainian Donbass. We are fighting for the return of people. And our main and only weapon in this struggle is development’,

- the Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko emphasized.

The Mayor of Mariupol added that the production of director Vlad Troitsky “The Way Home” is a symbol of the desire for peace. The project sends a signal to those who live beyond the line of demarcation - our successful future can only be in a common house called Ukraine.

Thus, the metal “Tree of Life” “sprouted” through the bridge, which is now closed. On the contrary, there is a glass dome - the location for the performances of the DakhaBrakha group on a granite rock. To ethnic music, the dancers showed stories from life, from birth to love, parting and re-rebirth. Besides, 3D drawings of folklore motives were projected on the rock. This event is one of a kind, because Vlad Troitsky is known for staging performances that are no longer repeated. It took more than a year to prepare for it. The result met expectations. Several dozen Mariupol residents came to watch “The Way Home” and hundreds joined them online.
