The event was attended by the secretary of Mariupol city council Ksenia Sukhova and deputies of the mayor.
‘Mariupol honors the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. First of all, they were people who were united by the willingness to preserve the European future of our Ukraine. They paid for it with the most precious thing - their lives. They have forever become a real example of the civic courage of the Ukrainians, a symbol of sacrifice and patriotism. They will be in our hearts forever. They remind us of the cost of freedom and independence. Remember! Heroes do not die!’, Ksenia Sukhova said.
During the rally, a memorial service was held for those who died during the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, who became Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. Honored guests, the military, representatives of law enforcement agencies and public organizations, as well as the residents of the city came to honor their memory. They commemorated the Heroes with a minute of silence to the song "Plive Kacha" and laid flowers at the foot of the monument to the soldiers-liberators of Ukraine.
