For the first time, Ukraine has given away all the cheap gas of its own production to maintain preferential tariffs for heat supply. Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko told about this to the TV channel Ukraine 24. Due to this position of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the current social tariff for the population will not change for three years. The corresponding contract was signed by the city with NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
“It was a long and difficult negotiation process. And the end of it was put by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who made the decision to fix gas for the population at UAH 7.42. The gas price for the next three years will not change, ” the Mayor explained.
According to Vadym Boichenko, the heating season in the city has already begun. Heat is gradually being supplied to hospitals and kindergartens.
It was reported that following the signing of a Memorandum between the Association of Ukrainian Cities, the Government and Naftogaz, from 2022 communities will receive an additional 4% tax on personal income as financial security for losses from the establishment of preferential tariffs for the social sphere.
