The creation of a ‘barbecue area’ will have already been completed in Hurov Park by May holidays. There will be 23 gazebos installed here and a parking lot for 77 places will be placed nearby. By the Independence Day, it has been planned to complete the first stage of the park's reconstruction.
According to the head of the capital construction department, Halyna Sheichenko, for convenience, a check-in with a traffic light will be organized from the 7th passage. The gazebos can accommodate from 4 to 14 people. A mother and a child room will be located nearby.
As part of the first stage of the park's reconstruction, the zone from ‘Ukrainian House’ recreation center to the Zoo is being updated. By August 24, 27 thousand square meters of lawns will be laid, 200 benches and 136 waste bins will be installed. About 800 trees, 80 000 shrubs and perennial plants will be planted.
‘It will be a wildlife park where residents of Mariupol and guests of the city will be able to comfortably spend their leisure time at any time of the year. For this, we specially selected a variety of shrubs and flowers. We are reconstructing the pedestrian and cascade fountains. We will install a new stage and unique playgrounds with slides up to 9 meters high,’ Halyna Sheichenko said.
Reconstruction of Hurov park is carried out at the expense of regional and city budgets and with the financial support of Metinvest Group. The representative of the company, Olexander Vyshnyakov, emphasized that the holding allocated UAH 10 million for the arrangement of a mother and child room and a parking lot, about 4 million UAH - for the replacement of engineering networks. In general, the investments of Metinvest Group in the reconstruction of Hurov Park will amount to about UAH 50 million.
