The second working meeting was held on the creation of a ‘Green Council’ under the executive committee of Mariupol City Council. The representatives of the municipality, the public and the deputies discussed the issue of making additions and changes to the Regulation on the "Green Council".

According to the order of the Mayor, the Regulation on the creation of "Green Council" is being developed. On November 19, the first working meeting took place where a preliminary version of the Regulations was presented. For the formation of the final document, representatives of the public could make their suggestions and corrections. Initially, the final date for submitting proposals was set for November 30th.

‘By November 30, no proposals were submitted. Therefore, the deadline was extended until December 3. As a result, two proposals were submitted. They were processed and presented for discussion at the second meeting on the creation of ‘Green Council,’ Vahagn Mnakatsanyan, the head of the department for environmental, energy management and labor protection said.

The proposals were received regarding the point system for the selection of candidates to the Green Council and the inclusion in the regulations of the clearly prescribed powers of the commission.

‘I would like more suggestions and more initiative. During the discussion, a compromise solution was found to the disputed issue: if a member of the Council is a representative of a political party and during the meetings he will conduct agitation activities, then a decision may be made to exclude him. After making changes, the document will be submitted to the executive committee for consideration. But further changes can be made to the document’, Vahagn Mnakatsanyan said.

After the Regulations are adopted, the members of the executive committee will be announced a competitive selection for ‘Green Council’.
