Mariupol will provide 31 projects for financing to the European Investment Bank under the second phase of the Emergency Credit Program for the restoration of Ukraine. Today they were presented by Mayor Vadym Boichenko during a meeting with Roy Draycott, senior expert of the regional development sector of the European Investment Bank in Ukraine.

All projects are social in nature and cover different areas - medicine, education, sports, transport and administrative services. They are divided into two lines. There are 16 projects in the first phase. There are four outpatient clinics in different districts of the city, lyceums and a kindergarten among them. In addition, housing for displaced persons, the cultural center Port of Cultures, a swimming pool in the Left Bank district, the Central Scientific and Industrial Agency and the M-IT Innovation Center at the site of Gipromez.

“These projects are about improving the quality of life of people and European services. The key is that by implementing such important infrastructure facilities, we show, using the example of Mariupol, that Ukraine has future and it will develop ”, the Mayor emphasized.

Vadym Boichenko appreciated the European Investment Bank and UNDP for the special attention to Mariupol. He spoke about 15 projects that have already received funding under the program. Most of them have already been implemented. Cardiovascular Center, Electronic Library and Startup Development Center "1991" and Left Bank Center for Social Rehabilitation for Children with Disabilities are among them. The rest of the projects are still underway.  "Ukrainian House", the building of the executive committee of the city council and the maternity ward of Mariupol Territorial Medical Union are among them.

“The implemented projects helped to“ reset ”the economy of Mariupol. New opportunities have been opened up for young people. Thus, over 70% of school graduates remain in the city, whereas five years ago such a number left it, ” the Mayor said.

Roy Draycott noted the success of Mariupol in the implementation of projects and expressed confidence in the victory of new initiatives. Representative of the United Nations Development Program Ihor Kistenev-Kavkazsky stressed that Mariupol is the undisputed leader among all cities under the Emergency Credit Program.
