Mariupol has been visited by the Minister for temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons Vadim Chernysh. During the trip, he visited the ENT department of the city hospital No. 1, the Kalmiuskiy water intake and the filtration station of the Staryi Krym reservoir.

'Mariupol has a very capable local government, which took advantage of decentralization. If you use its mechanisms and revenues correctly, then people will feel it through improved services, lower costs and increase of revenues to the local budget',Vadim Chernysh said.

He stressed that Mariupol pays great attention to the projects on water supply and approaches to solving the problem in an integrated manner. So, this year the Government of Ukraine and France signed the Framework Agreement on official support of the project on the supply of drinking water to Mariupol. He will solve the issue of safe and quality water supply for a half-million city. The agreement provides the allocation of € 64 million by the French Government.

The minister was shown two sites of the proposed water intake. The final word and expertise will provide the French side.
