Mayor Vadim Boichenko has met with the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, Andrey Gunder, at the US Embassy as part of a working visit in Kiev. They discussed the economic prospects for the development of Mariupol and ways to attract major investments to the city.
Vadim Boichenko said that the city is changing according to the pleasant Development Strategy of Mariupol-2021. Large-scale infrastructure projects are being implemented, avenues, parks, hospitals, schools are being reconstructed and new facilities are being built.
According to the Mayor, all this became possible due to the correct distribution of funds. Since 2014, the development budget has increased by 37 times. Today, more than UAH 1 billion from the city budget is directed to the development of Mariupol.
The Mayor emphasized that a large role in the development of Mariupol was played by international investments. The city won the trust of partners by becoming one of the safest and most transparent cities in Ukraine according to Transparency International. Today, the city successfully cooperates with USAID, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Finance Corporation, the European Union and other partners.
In turn, Andrei Gunder said that he was ready to assist Mariupol. In particular, so that large global retail chains enter the city.
