Vadim Boichenko meets with the coordinator of the UNDP humanitarian system

Today Mayor Vadim Boichenko has met with the coordinator of the UN system, the coordinator for humanitarian issues and the permanent representative of UNDP in Ukraine Osnat Lubrani. According to the guest, the city places development priorities correctly.

First of all, Vadim Boichenko thanked the UN for close cooperation. In particular, for the implementation of ‘Social Water’ joint project with UNICEF. Now schoolchildren and kindergarten pupils drink quality water and parents do not worry about the health of their children.

Besides, Vadim Boichenko told about the City's Development Strategy until 2021, the solution of the housing issue for ‘new Mariupol residents’ and the investment project for the renewal of public transport during the meeting.

‘We are in the top three in transparency according to the rating of Transparency International. Among the safest cities in Ukraine. Our work is built on three ’pillars’ - the development of the communal sphere, municipal services and the creation of new opportunities for residents,’
the Mayor stressed.

Osnat Lubrani said that this is her first visit to Mariupol. She thanked the city council for its close cooperation with the UN offices located in the city. She noted the positive development of Mariupol despite the proximity of the armed conflict.

‘You have done a tremendous job in resolving the issue of providing housing for immigrants. Keep moving the city forward. Collaborate with many organizations. We will support Mariupol. I know you have challenges that you are ready to take and solve,’
the coordinator of the UN system noted.

At the end of the meeting, Vadim Boichenko presented Osnat Lubran memorable souvenirs.
