Mayor Vadim Boichenko has met with Fiona Fraser, the Chairman of the UN Monitoring Mission on Human Rights in Ukraine. The parties discussed issues of further cooperation.
The Mayor spoke about the development vector of Mariupol, the implementation of key projects and the support of international partners. He elaborated on the way the city helps and socializes resettlers. According to Vadim Boichenko, Mariupol saw a key to development in Mariupol residents.
In a short time, Mariupol, with the support of the European Union, opened the first hostel in Ukraine for resettlers. Two social houses appeared in the city, which give 39 apartments, both for new Mariupol residents and for indigenous people. In addition, there are programs for the purchase of official housing for skilled resettlers and flats for orphans. Mariupol also created all the conditions for the relocation of three universities from Donetsk.
In turn, Fiona Fraser appreciated Vadim Boichenko for all the things the city does for internally displaced persons. She said that the UN mission helps residents protect their rights and freedoms. In this respect, Fiona Fraser offered an expert assistance to Mariupol.
