Mayor of Mariupol, Vadym Boichenko, has taken part in a government meeting on tariff policy in the field of district heating. The event was chaired by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal.
Participation in the meeting, which took place yesterday, January 20, was attended by members of the Association of Ukrainian Cities chaired by Vitaly Klitschko, Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Chernyshov, acting Energy Minister Yuriy Vitrenko, Deputy Head of the President's Office Kirill Timoshenko, Deputy Head of the President's Office Yulia Sviridenko, Chairman of National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities Valery Tarasyuk, Chairman of the Board of “Naftogaz” Andrey Kobolev, MPs and other people of position. On the part of the Association of Cities, the meeting was attended by the mayors of Vinnitsa Sergey Morgunov, Krivoy Rog Konstantin Pavlov and Kropyvnytsky, Andrey Raikovich, as well as the first deputy mayor of Kharkov, Alexander Novak.
“In the situation with tariffs, the central government must make decisions that will help residents of Mariupol and other cities of Ukraine. The government must do whatever is necessary to prevent tariff increases. This is the position taken by the Association of Ukrainian Cities today, ” Vadym Boichenko said.
The Mayor added that as a result of the meeting with the Government, it was possible to agree that the tariffs for hot water supply and heating would not increase until the end of the heating season. That is, for such enterprises as "Mariupolteploset", as well as for the population, the gas price will remain at the level of 6.99 UAH per cubic meter.
In addition, during the meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Association of Cities agreed to develop a draft joint Memorandum, which will govern the following agreements:
1. Tariffs for heat and hot water will remain unchanged this heating season.
2. Carrying out joint work on the restructuring of the debt to NJSC “Naftogaz”, which was formed due to the difference between the revenue of BST pricing and the tariff revenue (the so-called “difference in tariffs”).
3. "Teplokommunenergo" will be able to conclude annual contracts with NJSC “Naftogaz” at a favorable price.
Following the meeting, the Prime Minister gave instructions to the Minister of Community and Territorial Development Alexei Chernyshov, acting Minister of Energy Yuriy Vitrenko, Chairman of National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities Valery Tarasyuk, Chairman of the Board of NJSC “Naftogaz” Andriy Kobolev, with the participation of the Association of Ukrainian Cities and interested state authorities, to prepare and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers a draft Memorandum of Understanding on resolving problematic issues in the field of centralized heat energy supply and hot water price in Ukraine.
