According to the initiative of the President of Ukraine , Cabinet of Ministers, National committee that is put into practice in the field of energetics and public services, National joint-stock company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” and the mayors of the cities signed Memorandum on regulation of problem issues of the supplies of heating and hot water. Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko is among the signers.
“The goal of the memorandum is to make the tariff for heating and hot water for the population not to be increased up to the end of the heating season, but the enterprises of public heat power engineering got the natural gas in the volume that provides a stable heating season. The main issue is that people are in the center of attention. We must do everything to protect every resident of Mariupol and Ukraine as a whole,” Vadym Boichenko admitted.
“In order to fulfill the task of the Head of State to ensure the proper passage of the heating season and prevent an increase in the tariff burden on Ukrainian citizens, the relevant central authorities, together with representatives of local self-government, have found a constructive solution. Due to him, Ukrainians will have warmth and hot water in winter without undue burden on their family budgets,” Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Deputy Head of the President's Office said.
The document also notes that a deferral of payment for natural gas and compensation for the difference between the market price of natural gas and the price taken into account in tariffs for heat are provided for municipal heat power enterprises. The government guarantees that the financing of compensation for heat supply companies will not be transferred to local governments.
In turn, “Naftogaz of Ukriane” will develop and implement long term price offers before September 1, 2021 to provide a stable level of prices for natural gas for the enterprises of heating supply. It will allow to avoid price range during the heating season of 2021-2022.
