Today, March 30, Ukrzaliznytsia has launched an overnight express train No. 10/9, ‘Kiev-Mariupol’. It has a convenient schedule and comes 2 hours faster. The first departure was launched by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Vladimir Omelyan, together with Mayor of Mariupol Vadim Boichenko.
‘We finally have a quality rail link, but we are not stopping at this. We attach high importance to the development of the Azov Sea. The situation of Mariupol and Berdyansk is constantly under the control of the leadership of the state. This year we are investing UAH 1 billion into the road Zaporozhye-Mariupol. Mariupol residents should have high-quality aviation, road and railway communication with all cities of Ukraine,’ Vladimir Omelyan said.
Vadim Boichenko stressed that the launch of the night express and reduction of travel time is another step towards improving the infrastructure of Mariupol.
Chairman of the Board of JSC ‘Ukrzaliznitsya’ Yevgeniy Kravtsov noted that this train will be more convenient in terms of service and travel time:
‘Today we have three trains between Kiev and Mariupol. This train number 10/9 is the flagship. With the support of the Ministry of Infrastructure, since April of this year, we are introducing a new system of grading passenger trains - to Comfort, Standard and Economy. This train is just such a presentation train of the ‘Comfort’ category. It is formed from new and only recently renovated cars of a completely new composition’.
The train consists of ten cars. All of them are modernized. The guests of honor appreciated the changes and the level of comfort. And Vadim Boichenko was one of its first passengers:
‘Today, Mariupol residents, like Kyiv residents, have a new opportunity. Previously, to get from Mariupol to Kiev, you had to spend more than 20 hours. Thanks to the new train, we were able to significantly reduce travel time. By shortening the way, we save the most important thing for a person - his time’.
It should be noted that ‘Ukrzaliznitsya’ launched a night express on behalf of the President of Ukraine and the support of the Prime Minister.
The schedule is convenient.The train departs at 19:03 from Kiev it arrives in Mariupol at 9:47. It departs at 16:30 from Mariupol and it arrives into the capital at 7:14.
