Vadym Boichenko has met with the community of the city. He summed up the results of the outgoing year and spoke about plans for 2020. The Mayor assured that the main focus will be directed on the needs of young people.

Vadym Boichenko began the meeting with a retrospective look. He recalled what the city faced in 2015: high youth migration, poor infrastructure, critical state of municipal transport and utilities. The issue of IDPs  who needed support and housing was added.

'The main challenge that confronted us was to retain youth. This is the basis of all changes and our future,'
the Mayor stressed.

Utilities were "rebooted" in the city, the transport system started to be changed and municipal services to be developed. This created new jobs and shaped the labor market.

In addition, the city was directed to provide transparency and openness. This has provided significant savings. The main thing is that it has formed the trust of foreign partners. Due to this, Mariupol attracted significant investments. As a result, they began to reconstruct the buildings for social housing for the “new Mariupol residents”, upgrade medical facilities, purchase transport, received the “new face” of the Korolenko library and chess club, which turned into modern IT spaces.

The plans for the next year are to continue to implement ambitious projects. In particular, medicine will be the focus of attention. In 2020, it is planned to allocate about UAH 50 million to the primary care unit. A number of modern outpatient clinics will be opened. About UAH 100 million are planned to be sent to the secondary level of medicine.

Next year they will launch the Center for Support and Development of Small and Medium Businesses. This will be the basis of support for aspiring entrepreneurs. The new transport will continue to “come”. 72 trolleybuses, including 20 with autonomous running, will solve the transport problem of the city.

Vadym Boichenko presented a number of large-scale infrastructure projects. Among them, the reconstruction of Freedom Square, Gurov Park and Neptune swimming pool. After that, all those present were able to look a little into the future - to “walk” along  Peschanka beach after reconstruction.

‘All this opens up new possibilities. It is important that everyone sees in Mariupol prospects for self-realization and development. Together with the community, we are ready to change our city, make it even more comfortable and European,’
Vadym Boichenko concluded.

At the end of the meeting, the Mayor answered the questions of the present residents. They dealt with housing issues, platforms for the meetings of the youth, the development of modern centers and bus routes.
