In Mariupol, work is underway to create a new City Development Strategy for 10 years. Mayor Vadym Boichenko, his profile deputies and experts held a strategic session to develop the document. For two days they discussed the directions of work, the formation of strategic goals based on the results of a sociological survey of citizens. According to the Mayor, the 2030 Strategy will provide new opportunities for the development of Mariupol and every citizen.
“Together with experts, we have developed hypotheses for the further development of Mariupol. We took into account international experience and the best practices of Ukraine. In Strategy 2021, we have invested in a plan for the development of utilities and municipal services. In the Strategy-2030, we lay opportunities for every citizen of the city. This is a key challenge that the expert group is working on,” Vadym Boichenko said.
During the discussion, goals were considered in 10 areas. They were based on a sociological survey conducted among the residents of the city. According to experts, Mariupol is a dynamically and steadily developing city that can implement new projects. The goal is to transform the economy of Mariupol and create opportunities for the development of every citizen. For each direction of the Strategy, specific projects are being developed that will be discussed with residents of Mariupol.
“The task of Mariupol is to become a national leader of cultural and economic transformation. Our city can become an example for the east of Ukraine and a source of inspiration for the whole of Ukraine. We are ready to take on the most ambitious tasks. Mariupol will become a city by the sea with an ocean of opportunities,” Vadym Boichenko stressed.
