Today the first session of Mariupol district council has taken place. It consisted of 54 deputies from three political forces, and Stepan Mahsma became the chairman. Mayor of Mariupol, Vadym Boichenko, noted that for deputies the work in the newly created council is a challenge that requires quick decisions.
The Mayor stressed that the newly elected deputies have a responsible mission because the residents believed in them. He also added that the council should become a strong team, because it faces one task - the development of the district. And he called Stepan Mahsma a real leader who should be emulated.
“I am sure that the experience gained in the development of Mariupol, you will be able to replicate in the district. This is a great responsibility that is a challenge to each of you. Today you have ambitions to develop the city and the region, to strengthen our community. You have to think about everyone and hear everyone,” Vadym Boichenko said.
During the first plenary session, the deputies took the oath and elected Stepan Makhsma, the former secretary of Mariupol City Council, and before that the chairman of the village of Sartana.
“It is important for us to make people of each community feel our support. Now we need to work hard where we have been elected. In the city, settlements, villages. We will be reliable helpers for subregional development, and I promise to represent the region at all levels. Thank you for your support,” Stepan Mahsma said.
People's Deputies of Ukraine Vadym Novynsky and Dmytro Lubinets joined the congratulations. They wished the deputies and the chairman of the district council fruitful work and unite for the development of the district.
"Now the deputies have one goal - to protect the interests of every resident of the district. Over the last five years in Mariupol we have seen great changes. New parks and squares, renovated schools and hospitals, and transport. All this is the merit of Mayor Vadym Boichenko and his team, which includes Stepan Mahsma, " Vadym Novynsky said.
