The Drama Theater has hosted a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Metallurgist and Miner. Mayor Vadym Boichenko congratulated metallurgists of Mariupol on their professional holiday.
The best employees were awarded with gratitude and certificates. The concert program was prepared by the bands of the city Palaces of Culture.
Vadym Boichenko noted that metallurgists are part of a common Mariupol family. According to him, metallurgical production of Ukraine was born in Mariupol. Now iron and steel works are an integral part of the development of the economy and the city as a whole.
‘Mariupol and metallurgy are linked by centuries of history. The streets and the longest avenue of the city are named after the metallurgists. Technologies and equipment are changing, but people stay. The dynasties that formed this industry and traditions work at the factories. Together we form the foundation of the economy of our city and Ukraine as a whole’, the Mayor emphasized.
