Vadym Boichenko sums up the results of the investment forum

European investments, contracts, new prospectives and projects. These are the results of the first investment forum RE: think.Invest in Ukraine, held in Mariupol. This was said by the mayor Vadym Boichenko at the press-conference.

The Mayor appreciated the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for the initiative to hold a large-scale forum in Mariupol. The event allowed demonstrating the achievements of the city to European investors and it helped to show the opportunities that are here.

‘The forum has opened up new prospects for investments in the city. Private investors arrived. We discussed many projects that can be implemented in Mariupol. Ukrainian ministers were shown our achievements in various fields,’
he said.

Vadym Boichenko stressed that the important factor was the solution of one of the main problems of the city - the logistics. In record time, the Mariupol-Zaporizhzhia highway was repaired. He added that while having the forum, they discussed the repairs of the Mariupol-Kherson highway, the possibility of launching the Intercity train and the opening of the airport.

Within the framework of the forum, a document regarding the construction of a water treatment plant was signed. The project will be implemented with the financial support of the Government of France.

‘We have signed a tripartite contract between the Embassy of France, the European Investment Bank and the city. The project was strengthened by the European Investment Bank to replace wastewater networks. After that, we proceed to the detailed design of the general water supply scheme of Mariupol. It will find the solution of further actions with drinking water and storm drains,’
Vadym Boichenko noted.

According to the Mayor, a particularly important result of the forum was an interest in private European entrepreneurs in investing in Mariupol. In particular, the city interested English businessmen who wanted to organize a large catering enterprise as well as European construction companies - the possibility of building housing.

Besides, the Mayor focused on discussions of the project of a waste recycling plant and reconstruction of the embankment in partnership with famous architects.
