During the large-scale celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine, Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor, handed ‘Loaf of Peace’ to the leadership of Mariupol operational-tactical group of civil-military cooperation. One of the 14 parts of giant baking was presented to the city at the opening of the Sorochinska Fair.

In turn, the leadership of the operational-tactical group will pass the baking to the soldiers, those who protect the borders of our city and our native Ukraine.

We decided to deliver this loaf to the people who protect our calm sleep today. Thanks to them, we can celebrate the Independence Day in a peaceful and safe Ukrainian Mariupol. Let this bread bring the long-awaited peace to Ukraine
Vadym Boichenko remarked

It should be noted that last year the Ukrainian company launched the ‘Loaf of Peace’ campaign. This year, the National Register of Records noted it as ‘The Heaviest Loaf’. The weight of baking was 615 kg, diameter of it was almost seven meters. It was made up of 70 loaves. Four bakers from Kharkiv were engaged in manufacturing it more than a week.

These parts were delivered to 11 cities of Ukraine: Mariupol, Selidovo, Odesa, Kharkiv, Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky, Podilsk, Konstantinovka, Severodonetsk, Kurakhovo and Druzhkivka. They were handed to orphans, migrants from the combat zone and soldiers of ATO.
