Mayor Vadym Boichenko has met with the Minister for Veterans, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Oksana Koliada. The parties discussed topical issues regarding municipal programs to support IDPs and combatants.
During the conversation, they discussed the number of internally displaced persons in Mariupol, ATO veterans and families who lost relatives during the hostilities. Oksana Koliada inquired about the centers for the rehabilitation of military personnel and the work being carried out in this direction. The Mayor said that Mariupol was the first city where a social hostel for IDPs appeared.
Deputy Mayor Ksenia Sukhova noted that for participants in hostilities, all medical services in the city are provided absolutely free of charge. ‘A separate hospital has been created. There is a center for social support and adaptation of military personnel,’ she said.
The Minister for Veterans, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons spoke about government programs aimed at supporting IDPs and ATO veterans.
‘To help people who have suffered from hostilities is, first of all, the social responsibility of the state. We are developing a number of initiatives that will be aimed at material compensation. Programs will also work on providing housing for IDPs on preferential terms,’ Oksana Koliada said.
At the end of the meeting, the Mayor presented memorable gifts with the symbols of Mariupol to the guests.
