This order has been given today by Mayor Vadim Boichenko to the director of the department of transport and communications Vasiliy Klat during his visit to depot No. 4. This is due to the change in the delivery time of the new transport to Mariupol.

Until the end of this year, they plan to bring 64 new buses to the line, where the planned stage of tender purchases is currently underway. At the moment, the Department of Transport is waiting for approval from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. Without its presence, it is impossible to proceed to the start of tender purchases.

‘Given the agreement, procurement will begin no earlier than June. Therefore, the delivery of new transport will be later,’ Vasily Klat said.

‘Any fare increase must be justified. The first increase for UAH 2 was due to an increase in the level of wages of employees of Mariupol Tram and Trolleybus Administration. The second is for UAH 1 because of the new transport. If the transport does not arrive on time, then there will be no question of increasing the fare from August 1. When the dates will be known and the first trolley buses will arrive in Mariupol, this issue will be discussed,’
Vadim Boichenko summarized.

It is worth noting that the project for the reconstruction of the depot and the purchase of modern transport became possible with the support of the International Finance Corporation IFC in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Within the framework of cooperation, 72 trolley buses will be purchased, where 15 are modern.
