Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor of Mariupol, participates in the International Mayors' Summit, which takes place in Kyiv under the patronage of Volodymyr Hroisman, the Prime Minister of Ukraine. The summit brought together more than 150 Ukrainian heads of the cities and local government leaders from Canada, Israel, Slovakia, Argentina, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Poland. Constantine, the Prince of the Netherlands, is an honorary guest of the summit.
Western NIS Enterprise Fund is an initiator of the summit that has been organizing such events with the participation of Ukrainian mayors already for two years. The Fund invests in the Sustainable Development Program, which includes regional level projects.
In two days, the heads of the Ukrainian cities will meet with the most innovative mayors of the world. They will take part in discussions and talk with representatives of urban startups. The event will allow not only to seize the best practices of their international colleagues, but also to share the best Ukrainian practices. The topics of the discussion are devoted to technological, infrastructural, political, cultural and tourism innovations.
Vadym Boichenko, along with other progressive mayors, signed a manifesto on cooperation and interaction in the field of innovations’ development. It includes following commitments: the initiative of reforming the city's innovations, research and implementation of the best world experience, cooperation with young leaders and startup community, attracting citizens to evaluate the results.
