Today “Be strong. Inspire. Be first” dedicated sport development program has been presented in Mariupol. It foresees a complex modernization of sport infrastructure of the city. This project is possible due to the decision of the “Shakhtar” FC President Rinat Akhmetov to reregistrate it in Mariupol that is going to bring an additional financial resource.
The program was presented by a city mayor Vadim Boichenko and a Director General of ‘Shaktar’ FC Sergey Palkin. The main aim of the program is to enlarge the number of sporting.
Vadim Boichenko told that this program will help to create sport infrastructure of national level in Mariupol.
According to the program during 5 years every district will have had a modern sport complex with swimming pools, race tracks, equipment for gymnasts, grapplers, boxers and footballers. Over 150 sport objects are going to be built on the territory of schools. The Center of Training of Trainers will be built and over 100 social sport clubs will be opened.
As Sergey Palkin thinks, Mariupol is worth of such a present. ‘Why Mariupol? Because this is the biggest city from the point of view of members of SCM group and it is the city that has accepted dozens of thousands of resettlers. Mariupol is an industrial center which has to pay more attention to the development of mass sport, because sport is health and an active lifestyle. And the health today is one of the key priorities of the development of modern society’, - he emphasized.
