Most of Mariupol people are proud of their city. This became known thanks to a sociological survey conducted by GfK Ukraine commissioned by the Center for Analysis and Sociological Research of the International Republican Institute (IRI).
The study was conducted throughout Ukraine. According to the IRI official website, a multi-stage probabilistic sample method was used to build the sample, and there were a random route and the rule of the last birthday for the respondent's selection. The survey was attended by Ukrainians who have reached the age of majority.
The International Republican Institute paid particular attention to Mariupol, Dnipro, Mykolayiv and Khmelnytskyi.
According to published data, residents of our city are generally satisfied with the direction of the Mariupol movement. This opinion was expressed by 55%. More than 63% of the respondents are proud of Mariupol, in comparison with the previous studies, this figure was 26%. About 70% of residents of Mariupol noted activity of the mayor as positive.
Also, it is noted that fears of Mariupol residents concerning safety decreased by 10 positions in comparison with the previous research.
Among the services provided in Mariupol, the citizens evaluated garbage collection, trade, street lighting and education as the best ones. They consider medicine with housing and communal services as the priority spheres for improvement by local government.
The Mayor stressed that the number of people who were proud of their city had increased significantly during the year.
