As part of the presentation of the results of the 2020 Cities Transparency and Accountability Ratings, Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boychenko took part in a panel discussion: "Duel or duet: how to increase the effectiveness of cooperation between the authorities and the community." He said that Mariupol was able to become a leader in the ratings due to the development of quality services and ensuring the transparency of processes at all levels.

“It is important for Mariupol to provide residents with modern and comfortable services. This is our philosophy of work, which we put in all areas of development. As a result, Mariupol has made a breakthrough in transparency and in the quality of service provision, ” Vadym Boichenko said.

According to the Deputy Minister of Community and Territory Development of Ukraine Ivan Lukeri, Mariupol has done a great job towards increasing transparency.

“For the last five years, Mariupol has taken one of the last places in the rating of democratic and visionary. Mariupol city council is glad to see the Parliament of Prosperity on our Skhidny Cordon. The rating is a tedious injection, as a place of Ukraine to propel the mechanisms of self-priming at places, ” he said.

As Vadym Boichenko stressed, Mariupol was able to achieve high results in transparency due to digital transformation, increased services in all directions. For example, before, residents of the city could apply for a subsidy within three months, now they can do it within 15-20 minutes. Administrative service centers provide high-quality services to Mariupol residents. Among them there is the largest and most accessible social office "Multicenter", where under one roof you can get administrative, pension, utilities, social, banking services and even register a marriage.

It is worth noting, Mariupol won two ratings by Transparency International Ukraine: it became the most transparent among 100 large cities of Ukraine and the leader of accountability among 50 cities.
