It was stated by Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor, in a live broadcast of the Ukraine TV channel. He noted that over 60,000 internally displaced persons permanently lived in our city and some of themwere in dire need of housing. The first social dormitory in Ukraine was built, apartments are being bought and social housing is being built in order to create living conditions for displaced persons in Mariupol.
30 families have being already lived in the social dormitory, which was built with the European Union assistance.
In addition, Mariupol, together with the Ministry for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, has developed a separate project for the provision of qualified specialists with housing. It was supported by government. 30 million UAH were allocated for the purchasing of apartments: by 15 million UAH from the state and city budgets.
