Transparency, investment attraction, infrastructure development and creation of new opportunities in education - all this helps Mariupol to keep young people in the city. More than 70% of graduates choose Mariupol. Mayor Vadym Boichenko told about this on the air of one of the national TV channels.

‘In 2016, 70% of graduates left Mariupol. But by developing the infrastructure, using the possibilities of decentralization, we have changed the situation. The development of education, the creation of new opportunities - held back the outflow of young people. We rely on this when forming the Development Strategy for Mariupol-2030, ” Vadym Boichenko said.

Investments help create new opportunities in Mariupol. According to the Mayor, international partners and financial institutions, in cooperation with cities, pay attention not only to the existence of a development strategy, specific projects, but also to the level of transparency.

‘Today it is very important to be open and transparent. Mariupol is a shining example of development and investment attraction. Decentralization also gives communities opportunities. Each mayor tries to bring these opportunities into specific projects. This speeds up the development of the masses. Mariupol changes every day, ”Vadym Boichenko stressed.

He said that due to the fact that Mariupol maintains a leading position in transparency, the city was recently able to launch the first autonomous trolleybuses. Also, a pilot project for the modernization of water supply is currently being developed for implementation. It attracted 64 million euros of investment from the French government. It is planned that by 2024 a water purification plant will be built in the city. Each Mariupol family will receive a drinking hearth from a tap of European quality.

Besides, in terms of infrastructure development, Mariupol solves logistics issues: the opening of the airport and the improvement of railway communication, reducing the interval of stay on the way "Mariupol-Kiev" to 10 hours.
