In the summer, PU Zelenstroy conducts daily watering of park zones in Mariupol. Modern irrigation systems were installed during the renovation of the Greek Square, the Theater Square and Veselka Park. In total, it is 36 km, more than 42 thousand square meters of lawn, 17 thousand bushes and about two thousand trees.
‘These systems work automatically. The frequency and duration of irrigation depends on several factors - weather conditions, air temperature and the presence of shade. Ground sensors monitor the soil moisture in flowerbeds and in green areas. Watering is carried out from 18.00 to 8.00,’ the chief of Zelenstroy, Peter Cheker said.
Besides, the employees of ‘Zelenstroy’ carried out watering of barrels twice a day. For example, in 2019, 150 flower beds were planted at 34 sites, which is 150 thousand plantings of annual plants. The rate of such irrigation is 20 liters of water per square meter.
