A Regional Development Council chaired by the President of Ukraine Petr Poroshenko has been held in Kiev. The decentralization reform became the main topic of the panel discussion. The City Mayor Vadim Boichenko took part in the event.
The first leaders of the state, the chairmen of the regional administrations and the mayors of big cities of Ukraine were among the participants of the panel discussion.
In the welcoming remarks, Petr Poroshenko admitted that Ukraine has chosen the way of the European integration and it is clear on the course being followed. According to him, all the reforms that are realized in the country are directed to a better quality of life of the citizens.The head of the state emphasized that the key task that public and central authorities have is to explain the reasons and the results of any changes that happen in the country in details.
Talking about the advantages of the decentralization Vadim Boichenko admitted that this reform has given an opportunity to develop effectively to Ukrainian cities and Mariupol is a bright example.
