Today, the Metinvest Group, together with the charitable foundations of Rinat Akhmetov and Vadym Novynsky, have given to Mariupol another 5.8 thousand rapid tests for the determination of coronavirus . They will be distributed among Primary Health Care Centers. According to the deputy mayor Ksenia Sukhova, they will help to timely identify COVID-19 and restrain its further distribution.
‘The pandemic today is a challenge not only for our country, but for the whole world. It is important to combine efforts in order to stop the spread of coronavirus infection, and most importantly - to preserve the health and lives of people. I appreciate Metinvest Group for their active position in this matter and their support. Rapid tests will help to quickly determine the presence of COVID-19 in the body,’ Ksenia Sukhova said.
It is worth noting that earlier Rinat Akhmetov Foundation transferred to Mariupol about 15 thousand rapid tests. The Metinvest Group also equipped oxygen centers in city hospital facilities. About UAH 7 million were allocated for this.
‘We are investing UAH 10 million in the creation of the Regional Children's Infectious Center in Mariupol on the basis of the city hospital number 4. Our goal is to support the city in the fight against the pandemic of the 21st century. Only by joint efforts will we defeat the epidemic,’ Konstantin Voitsekhovsky, Director for Human Resources and Administrative Affairs of Azovstal Iron and Steel Works said.
Tests for the initial diagnosis of COVID-19 allow you to check a patient with suspected virus in 15 minutes. A blood test is taken from the patient and a reagent is added. Thus, doctors can quickly diagnose COVID-19, isolate its carriers and take them under medical care. It is worth noting that mobile medical teams work on the basis of city hospitals, who go on a call to patients with suspected coronavirus.
