Today, a Memorandum of Cooperation on Gender Equality, Prevention and Counteraction to Domestic Violence and Counteraction to Human Trafficking has been signed in Mariupol. The document was signed by the secretary of the city council Ksenia Sukhova and the president of the Donetsk University of Internal Affairs Serhii Vitvitsky.

As Ksenia Sukhova said, Mariupol is systematically working in this direction. Today, there is a shelter in the city, where a person is provided with social and psychological assistance and mobile teams. A city interdepartmental council on family issues, gender equality, demographic development, and combating domestic violence has been created.

“Our common goal is zero tolerance for domestic violence. Together with the university, we want not only to inform students about the fight against domestic violence and the importance of gender equality, but also to jointly conduct events, actions aimed at informing residents about these phenomena and possible help, ” Ksenia Sukhova said.

Serhii Vitvitsky added that the issues enshrined in the document are relevant throughout the world. According to him, the university is ready to make every effort to provide support and assistance to residents and contribute to an information campaign in this direction.
