The first IT school to appear in Mariupol

Secondary School №7 is being transformed into an IT school. Now repair works are underway here. A  complete renovation of the educational institution and equipping it with modern technology is ahead. Mayor Vadym Boichenko spoke about the importance of this project.

“Today we receive a request from young people for the profession of IT specialist. Due to such school - we realize "Social elevator". Children get new opportunities from school. Here they will be given a basis for their future profession. Then they will be able to make their own decision - to get a higher education or develop professionally through our IT hubs, " the Mayor said.

Deputy Mayor Serhiy Orlov added that in the renovated school specialized subjects will be added to the standard educational program in computer science and programming. The readiness to hold lectures and practical classes has already been expressed by teachers of two computer academies of the city.

Repair work began in the spring of this year. Now the building is being insulated, engineering networks and windows are being replaced. The school will create all the conditions for learning programming. The cost of the project is more than UAH 80 million. The project is financed by non-repayable investments from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The city's first IT school plans to open its doors in 2021. More than 500 children will be able to study here.
