A modern educational center for students will appear on the basis of one of the buildings of the Donetsk State University of Management. This project was presented today at an open discussion of the development of universities resettlers in Mariupol. The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the EU Support for Displaced Higher Education Institutions in the East of Ukraine.
Deputy Mayor Sergei Orlov stressed that the main goal of the center is to create comfortable conditions for the professional development of Mariupol children.
“We are constantly working on the development of the city in all the directions. For several years, the city's infrastructure has been actively updated. New parks, squares, educational and youth spaces appear in Mariupol. Our goal is a strong and prosperous Mariupol, which is impossible without the development of an intellectual resource. You are our future and you must study in a comfortable environment. It is important for us that you grow up as professionals and continue to develop our hometown,” Sergei Orlov said.
The president of Donetsk State University of Management Svetlana Marova noted that the university actively cooperates with European educational institutions and organizations. The university has presented its program of integration into the Mariupol educational space.
“The project of the educational center provides for the capital reconstruction of one of the buildings in 15 Makara Mazaya Str. There will be a modern and stylish building. It will be equipped taking into account the most current trends in the field of education,” the president of the university said.
On the basis of the institution, academic master's programs, the Center for Environmental Education, the student self-government body of universities resettlers and a center for the integration of these universities into the Mariupol community will be opened.
The estimated cost of the project is over EUR 1 million. The project partners are the University of Genoa (Italy), Mariupol City Council, Mariupol Development Fund and Metinvest Green Center.
