The major repair works of the department of vascular surgery are finished in the cardio-vascular center. A modern operating room, special care wards are equipped and 20 beds are accommodated here. Today the clinical facility was visited by Vadym Boichenko.
“The construction of the cluster of cardiovascular surgery was life-saving. That’s why since 2017 we have started to realize this large scale project. We were able to concentrate the resources of European investment bank, State fond of regional development, region and the city. Such an accumulation of the efforts created the center for the whole south of Donetsk region. It allows to embrace 600 000 people,” the Mayor noted.
Comfortable wards and modern operating room are created in the department. The systems of ventilation and air conditioning were equipped and engineering nets were changed. The financing is UAH 11 mln in 2020. The resources were allocated from the regional and city budgets.
The director of Emergency care hospital Serhiy Orleanskyi admitted that high quality assistance can be got by patients in the department both having prophylactic and surgical treatment.
“Today it is especially essential because Covid-19 leads to cardiovascular accidents. In particular, it is thrombosis. These situations used to cause the amputation, but now we can save the lives of the patients”, the doctor reassured.
A public pharmacy of the cardio-vascular center is opened on the first floor. The patients here have the opportunity to purchase all the necessary medicines after doctor’s prescriptions. The key issue is that the price is reasonable. All the medicines are purchased from official distributors and they are certified. Social state programs are realized, but commercial pharmacies refuse from them.
“The lives and health of Mariupol residents are in the core of our attention. Public pharmacies do not have the goal to purchase but to help. That is why there is affordability, guaranteed quality and high professionalism”, Vadym Boichenko stressed.
The main issue that demanded the solution is energetic independence of the medical establishment. According to Serhiy Orleanskyi, high quality equipment of high capacity is used during emergency surgery. Thus, the capacity of angiograph is 110 kW. The generator unit was set in the hospital for 30 kW. That is the reason why the challenges with operational interventions began. Now this problem is solved by setting the generator unit with capacity of 431 kW.
“The generator helps to give the energy for full-fledged functioning of Cardio-vascular center. The switching on takes one minute. The cost of the equipment is UAH 2.7 mln. The warranty period is 10 years,” the first deputy mayor Mikhailo Kohut told.
Vadym Boichenko admitted that the doctors now can be sure that nothing can disturb them from long hours operations. The Mayor appreciated the governor of Donetsk region Pavlo Kyrylenko for subvention and opportunity to finish the overhauls within the period.
