The first electronic display with timetables of public transport was performed at the Azovstal Plant Administration bus stop. It is connected to the GPS system, so it shows the time of arrival of a trolley bus, bus or route taxi in the online mode. Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor, checked its operation personally.
Four LED displays at the Azovstal Plant Administration and Communications House bus stops in both directions will be installed in Mariupol in the near future. One of them is already working at the Azovstal Plant Administration bus stop, where a modern stop has also appeared.
Vasyl Klat, the Head of the Transport and Communication Department, said that the electronic display worked in conjunction with automated management system of passenger transport: “It is intended to provide information on traffic, namely the expected time of arrival of the nearest transport and next to it, to the stop on which the display is installed”.
The Mayor was convinced about the accuracy of information displayed on the board by checking the time of arrival of a public transport and route taxi. The board also informs about the current date, time, it displays the name of the stop in three languages and, if necessary, a text message sent from the control center.
The Mayor noted the need to upgrade the stops of the transport. For these purposes, the city budget allocated 7.32 million UAH for the purchase and installation of 30 bus stop pavilions.
According to the competition, 14 stopping points will be updated at the expense of entrepreneurs with street furniture installation and 10 stopping points will be brought to the approved archetype.
