A meeting-requiem has been held near commemorative sign to the peacekeepers. It was devoted to the Day of celebration in honor of war veterans on the territory of other states and 32nd anniversary of drawdown of forces from Afganistan. The deputy mayor Serhiy Zakharov and the secretary of Mariupol district council Stephan Makhsma were present at the event.
“We are bringing up the younger generation using the example of the heroes. From our side we are always ready to help parents who lost their children during military development,” Stephan Makhsma said.
The chairman of Priazov association of war veterans of Afhanistan Olexander Vlasov stressed that the memory about Mariupol residents, who did not return home, is saved in such a way.
In conclusion, three times blizzard of Honour guard was heard. The participants of the meeting honored memory of lost in operational activities with moment of silence and laid flowers to the monument of peacekeepers.
