Today all the citizens of our country celebrate one of the main state holidays - Constitution Day of Ukraine. Mariupol has joined the general celebration. In the morning a solemn meeting has been held with musical accompaniment, performances and a mass flashmob near T.Shevchenko monument.

The meeting was visited by representatives of city authorities, law enforcement agencies and servicemen. The citizens were congratulated with Constitution Day by  the first Deputy Mayor Mikhail Kogut after the performance of the Anthem of Ukraine. He noted that the Basic Law has become a guard of statehood and democracy, a guarantor of the foundations of security and immunity for every Ukrainian citizen.

‘We face the task to continue making Ukraine an independent, prosperous and democratic state. Changing Mariupol, we thereby change the country. We observe the laws you need to start with yourself and with your responsibility. The country, our children will have tomorrow, depends on us’, Mikhail Kogut stressed.

A thematic exhibition of children's drawings was held during the meeting and the best bands of the city performed movingly. All guests of the festival also joined the patriotic flash mob during which they read out the main articles of the Constitution of Ukraine.

The meeting ended with the laying of flowers at the foot of the monument to the kobzar Taras Shevchenko. His monument was decorated with blue-yellow bouquets.
