Campus of Ukrainian academy of leadership is opened in Mariupol

The campus of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy has been opened in Mariupol today. In less than a year, the UAL campus building was overhauled. It is fully equipped for a comfortable learning and recreation environment. UAH 16.6 million was allocated from the city budget to implement the project. Young people from all over Ukraine will undergo a special program of personal and social development for 10 months. Mayor Vadym Boichenko checked the way how the new institution works.

The Academy was founded in September 2015. In Mariupol, UAL began its work in 2019. Now its campus is open for students of the Academy.

“By successfully implementing the Development Strategy until 2021, we look to the future, forming a new Strategy of Opportunities until 2030, linking it with our youth. Together we make Mariupol a city where you want to live. In this work we are grateful to our partners. For five years, they have been helping to solve important programs of openness and transparency of government, IT development in the city and many others “,

- Vadym Boichenko noted.

Major external and internal repairs of the building were carried out using advanced technologies and modern materials. Dismantling and installation work was carried out, heating, ventilation, electric lighting, alarm systems and water supply networks were replaced. On the ground floor there is a reception and a lecture hall, there is a conference room, metering devices and a "smart frame" are installed for the safety of students. Mentors and students will be on the third floor.

“This is the success of our joint work. The US government is proud to be part of this initiative. Now more and more young people consider Mariupol to be the city of the future, ” Joseph Pennington, Acting Deputy Chairman of the US diplomatic mission in Ukraine said.

The program helps young people find their destiny, get to know Ukraine and the world, consciously choose their future profession and reveal leadership qualities. Training is based on three elements of development: physical, emotional and intellectual. Training is free - everyone who successfully passes the selection gets a grant that will cover accommodation, meals, expeditions and health insurance.

The head of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy Roman Tychkivskyy appreciated the international partners for their assistance and noted the importance of the opening of the branch in Mariupol: “We have great hopes that this branch will become a place of strength and development of youth from all over Ukraine. We are grateful to Vadym Boichenko for supporting our idea to open a UAL branch in Mariupol, he actually proved that we have chosen the right city. Mariupol is an example for young people, showing that Ukraine is changing and developing ".
