Now every resident of Mariupol can observe the movement of all types of public transport in the online mode. Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor, got acquainted with the work of the new control center personally.
The new center is a serious software and hardware complex that includes both modern equipment and new software developed by the Merakas Company from Lithuania.
“Mariupol residents can follow the public transport with its help, and workers of the Mariupol Tram and Trolleybus Administration can plan their work more efficiently, analyzing the flow of passengers and the speed of transport”, - Vasyl Klat, the Head of the Transportation and Communications Department, said.
The significant assistance to the city in the implementation of this project was provided by the Metinvest Group companies and Mariupol Development Fund public organization. Besides, 603 thousand UAH were allocated from the city budget funds for the purchasing equipment. Such amount was saved by ProZorro for the implementation of the Carefree City Program for organizing secure network of surveillance cameras installed at the main intersections of the city, videos of which, incidentally, can also be displayed on the video wall in the control center.
The Mayor stressed that the expenses on software in the amount of 40 thousand euros and the purchase of navigation equipment for the rolling stock of the Mariupol Tram and Trolleybus Administration in the amount of 290 thousand UAH were also borne by the city-making enterprises and Mariupol Development Fund. However, the navigating equipment for the route taxi was purchased by transport operators themselves.
