A creative hub ‘Open Police’ has been launched in Mariupol. It will work for all Mariupol residents. The community center is available to everyone. The conditions have been created for people with disabilities. The total cost of the project is UAH 4 million.

‘The openness of the police is the key to a safe city. The establishment of such a center will allow the public and the police to make important decisions together. The principles of work adhered to by the municipality and the police make Mariupol one of the safest cities in Ukraine,’ Deputy Mayor Arkady Meshkov said.

The goal of the project is to strengthen public confidence in the police. City residents will be able to take a direct part in creating a safe environment. This will improve the quality of police service. An action plan has already been developed. It deals with preventing domestic violence, ensuring the safety of children, tourism and countering illegal deforestation.

The project was implemented by the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine jointly with the Donetsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in partnership with the Donetsk Women's Council and Mariupol Development Fund with the support of Mariupol City Council the UNDP Union.
